We believe the best way to strengthen an emerging third-world economy, encourage good governance, alleviate poverty, support healthcare, and bring about long-term social stability is to build the leadership and professional capacity of a country’s business entrepreneurs. A vibrant, entrepreneurial private sector is able to provide value, create jobs, underwrite the local tax base, and be the social “glue” that binds a society together.
There is a growing awareness within the U.S. business community of our responsibility to share our intellectual, social, and financial capital for the greater good. Our willingness to get personally involved through offering a “hand up” not a “hand out” may offer our generation its best chance to bring about stability and sustainable growth in the world.
